The Sooners defeated Mississippi State 4-0 Friday at Devon Park.Left fielder Abigale Dayton finished 3 for 3 at the plate with a double.
OU outhit Mississippi State 7-3, while the Bulldogs left five on base.
Designated player Ella Parker doubled down the left field line in the first inning, scoring Nelly McEnroe-Marinas and Kasidi Pickering to open the scoring and give the Sooners a 2-0 lead. In the second inning, center fielder Hannah Coor crushed a two-run home run to left field, scoring Dayton and giving OU a 4-0 lead, which it maintained throughout the game.
Next, OU and Mississippi State will play a doubleheader on Sunday.

Abigale Dayton led off the bottom of the fourth inning with a single down the left field line.
Bulldogs right-hander Chaffin Raelin retired the next three batters, keeping the Sooners' lead at 4-0.

Nadia Barbary doubled down the left field line and Morgan Stiles singled. With Barbary at third, Landry forced two consecutive groundouts to keep the Bulldogs scoreless.
Landry has allowed three hits and struck out two in four innings.
