North Wilkesboro Speedway: Championship Tripleheader Preview | zMAX CARS Tour & SMART Modified Tour (2025)

Tripleheader at North Wilkesboro Speedway: A Thrilling Championship Showdown

Get ready for an adrenaline-pumping tripleheader at the historic North Wilkesboro Speedway! The stage is set for an epic showdown as the pole winners emerge in the Late Model Stock, Pro Late Model, and SMART Modified classes during the zMAX CARS Tour on Friday. The excitement continues on Saturday with the celebration of race winners and season champions.

In the Late Model Stock Car category, Landon S. Huffman secured his first-ever pole position for the CrossRoads Harley-Davidson 125. Huffman's crew chief, Carter Langley, has been instrumental in his team's success, pushing them to new heights. With championship contender Landen Lewis alongside him, Huffman is poised to make a strong move towards the title.

The Pro Late Model pole was claimed by Luke Baldwin of the Rick Ware Racing Team, who outmaneuvered the Harvick father-son duo, Keelan and Kevin. Baldwin's quick lap of 17.374 seconds in his No. 51 Ford sets the tone for the Northwest Automotive 100. Florida native T.J. DeCaire joins Baldwin on the front row, qualifying second in his No. 88 Chevy. The Harvicks, Young Gun, and three-time season winner Keelan, along with former Cup champion Kevin, will fill the second row, creating a highly competitive field.

Baldwin, in contention for the Owner points championship, is also in the running for the series title in the SMART Modified Tour. He will start sixth in the Frontier Natural Gas 99, showcasing his versatility and determination.

Ben Maier, who starts fifth, holds a strong lead in the Pro Late Model championship series over Brandon Lopez and Dylan Garner. Meanwhile, Joey Coulter, who had struggled in qualifying earlier in the year, claimed his second career pole in the SMART Modified Tour with a lightning-fast lap time of 17.225 seconds. Coulter's third-place starting position reflects his team's consistent improvement.

The Frontier Natural Gas 99 will feature a star-studded lineup, including former Cup Series champions Bobby Labonte and Ryan Newman. Labonte, driving the No. 38 machine, secured the pole position, while Newman, in the No. 2, will start second. Last week's winner, Carson Loftin, qualified second but will start fourth after the redraw.
